My trip is to go to Miami Beach FL for the weekend, and it starts this past Friday and to start when i get to Newark airport my flight is delayed 3 hours, we finally leave Newark at 1 pm, we get to Miami at 4 pm, after an hour of getting my bags and the rental car and we hit the rush hour traffic and that was just great so the 20 min ride to the hotel took 1 hour and 20 mins so we finally got to the hotel at 7pm so Friday was just shoot so we got dinner, then i worked out at the hotel gym to be ready for hopefully the big fish i would get the next day and then went to bed.
Saturday starts with wake up call at 7 am because the fishing boat i was going on for 5 hours was picking me up at my hotel at 730 am. i get to the boat get some drinks and wait for other people because it was a public trip so my trip was 6 guys and every one got some fish. we started by trolling for any thing basically like sail fish, king fish, dolphin and other fish. then we started catching some more bonito for bait and they were fun to catch and one guy when we were trolling got a king fish. Then we started to fish on the wrecks by using the whole bonito which are still swimming and heavy sinker to get them down deep and some guys son gets a yellow stripe fish which is not an eating fish but looks nice on your wall so they kept it to have it mounted. Then the other guys have there shoots at getting fish but the missed two fish each so no fish for them, but we needed more bonito so they got about 4 bonito each as their catch. Then it was my turn to catch a big fish of a life time we tried a few different wrecks but nothing so when we get to the inlet we started to troll for what ever was swimming around so after the bait has been in the water for about 2 mins the rod goes off and Im ready to fight the fish. I'm flighting the fish for a while a few mins and boat is coming and almost cuts my line and my captain on the boat is flipping out and I have the guy in the boat the NJ traffic wave. But thankfully i still had the fish on and after 5 more mins I landed a 48 inch (4 foot) Barracuda and the fish weighted 30 pounds. I kept the fish and I'm having it mounted so i will have the fish by early March.
