USGS Gauge on Housatonic River at Falls Village ???

Something strange or unprecedented is happening with the river flow or gauge. The flow recorded on this gauge

seems strangely (or not naturally) flat. I don't see how the flow could vary by only 5% over a 24 hour period. Maybe Torrey knows what's happening, or is it Mother Nature?

The gauge finally started to descend, now at 1560cfs. That flat spot is really strange, though.

The weirdness continues...I've never seen such a low variance in the gauge due to natural causes.

That crest looks pretty normal to me, especially considering the steady rain we got up here that lasted about a full day. I think you're looking tooo closely. Though I am aware it's good to keep looking.

Yeah, you're right I am overthinking, but I expect a normal crest to exhibit more peakedness. A flat curve for a whole day means that the amount of rain coming in is almost exactly equal to the amount of flow going out. Strange, right? I wonder if the supersaturated conditions in 2009 make an unnatural-looking buffer in the flow input/output. I am not saying that anyone is controlling the dam, I just have not seen constant natural flows before.
