Just signed up, highly recommended

Hi all,
I just signed up, after talking to my good friend Dave. . .davetheRAVE. I'm a musician friend of his (saxophone, as you can tell from my name), and Dave has been on my case to sign up. I have to be honest, I've fished very little, but really want to fish more this year. Dave took me to the Millers River last summer, and he taught me how to cast a fly rod, and I caught 3 rainbow trout, the largest being around 15'. It was great. We tried to go to the Deerfield, but we got rained out, so he took me to the Swift river in Western Ma. and we caught a bunch there.

The pictures that Dave has told me about are INSANE! He calls me up and then emails me pictures of huge fish. . .I told him that I want to go salmon fishing, so hopefully we will go this year.

Well this sight looks really awesome, and I look forward to going through all the contents, and hope that I can post some pics and reports sometime. I'm going to ask dave to take me fishing soon.

Welcome to the site! Dave's a nut, I like that guy. A fishing madman. He's a quick learner and if you can accompany him fishing, you will learn a lot. Hope to see you posting on here.

Welcome aboard! What a great teacher you have, when I met Dave on the Farmington, he was landing fish like a machine. Perhaps you can also ask for him to take you there. You will soon have many pictures of your own.

Maybe we could put together a "Salmon Festival" next fall in October? Since the river is so crowded going on the weekends would not matter. By early October I am sure we would have a shot at some Steelhead as well.

Eliot, after months of telling you, finally you're on TPO!

Thanks for all the replies guys, your words are too kind for sure. Eliot, you'll love the site, as you've heard me say before. These guys are the best, in every sense of the word. The information within this site is incontestable. It is expert knowledge in every way. The best part is, these guys fish a LOT. I've befriended some of the kindest, most generous, and most hardcore guys ever.

We definitely have to fish, and for those salmon for sure. I've been craving it since October. I'm ALWAYS up for a Pulaski run. A Salmon Festival next October sounds like a grand ol' plan. I'm in, and I'll make sure Eliot is there too. No excuses NYMPHMEISTER

Eliot and I fished last summer at the Millers and Swift. I outfitted him in my old hodgman neoprene waders, and some old crumby sneakers. It worked though! On a really rainy day on the Millers, we waded out in a really fast moving deep pool, and he caught a rainbow in the first 15 or so minutes. He got the casting down, and landed a few others too. It was a great day for sure. I remember you took a spill in the Swift while trying to wade across the area below the Y pool. That was awesome!

Since then, I've been keeping him apprised of all the past fishing adventures, and he wants to partake in the tremendous and unrivaled fun. He lives in Michigan, but visits here very often. We can stay with you when we fish the Muskegon, and other lake Mich. tribs for the steelhead, right? ;D ;D ;D
