    Lake Raystown and vicinity

Headed to a family reunion weekend after next and was considering taking my fly rod along. I'm not asking for anyone's honey hole here but if anyone is familiar with that area and can point me towards a nice place to fish. I'd be really grateful!

Little Juniata river just north of raystown lake, just west of there and east of Harrisburg are some fine fisheries Yellow Breeches, & Letort Run.
Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Thanks Paddy! I've read about the Little J here on the board quite a bit, but have never fished any of the three streams you mention!

    What's a good cut off temp? 68?

That's a weird one. You can fish when the water temps are slightly over 70 PROVIDED that they go back into the 60's at night. The temperature swing is the most important thing. When the temps go back into the 60's they can recover. The problem comes when the temps are 68-70 and they never go lower.

I would not fish in 70 degree or higher water. Even if the river cools over night the fish you catch and release probably will be dead by the time the temps drop down into the mid 60's.
