    Sunday

If its not too bad tomorrow I'm going to KLG for my first fishing since the Neversink w/ Northcountryman. Anyone care to join me just show up and look for a white F250 with Massachusetts tags, and a Dead sticker in the back window. If it rains too hard and the river is blown out ill have a few cheap beers on ice to share. So either way we win!!

I'm supposed to be on an airplane, but if not I'll see you there.

I fished from the wire to the island for quite a few nice small browns and bows. Sometimes you think you have a big leaf on the hook so you give it a good yank, only to send a nice eight incher cart wheeling through the air!! After that I moved upstream of the lot and had three nice big rainbow bucks in some deep, slow water. They were pretty aggressive and all sported scarred jaws and faces no doubt from a few run ins with treble hooks. The biggest was 19" and seemed upset that there was yet another hook in his mouth. The fish of the day was a brook trout that measured 16" and had all of the colors of the foliage of fall with a belly the color of a sunset. What a beautiful fish. I can't wait to get to Maine and find his cousins!!! My flies were both woven tied on 2499SPBL. The dropper was sz 16 chartreuse and brown with a brass bead, hares ear collar, with a red thread hot spot between the collar and the bead. The anchor was a sz 10 gold and brown woven with a brass bead, and peacock ice dub collar. Again with a red hot spot between the bead and collar.

It's just something I started doing as an experiment. Flies I dub with squirrel I put the hot spot on the bottom.

That's why I went there!! I know you had a few over there so I need to go check it out. I never fish that far down but when I got to the south lot there was a ton of guys in waders milling around. I turned around and went down stream so I could be alone. It paid off. I'd rather fish all by my self than feel like I'm waiting to tee off!!!

Fish when it rains. It's funny how guys in waders and jackets don't want to get wet. If I was home I'd be at the SBR as soon as flow dropped to 150.
