Yeah... very suspicious looking lol. It looks like someone lost control of the dam for a little bit??? You won't have these types of problems until they remove the power station. I wonder why they even keep it running, it does not even make any money at all.

Regarding the first blip in late July on the flow - (yes - I called the utility) - they had a localized thunderstorm dump 1 1/2-2 inches of rain just north of the bridge - the river rose suddenly and they had to divert water until they could get the generators on line to absorb the sudden inflow - they then added generation until they simulated inflow - since the increase was done in the middle of the evening - I doubt if it was diversion for the boaters - when I called, the new staff was completely proactive and honest about the dam situation - which is a huge change of operations for this dam facility. The second blip (I did not call about) since it was a small blip and there was not a big release and the fish are doing fine. Due to the placement of the flow-meters - we have noticed that they are not often indicative of the actual situation and these blips are common place due to transfering water around the falls or into the generators - it does not always mean a change in flow - but rather a change in flow direction.

The new owners of the dam have done a good job simulating run-of-river and again have been very proactive about the release of information (how often have I said that about the dam?). Don't be so eager to find fault where there is none and create bad blood with the new dam operators. ??? :'(

The dam makes money - thank god - because if it didn't, it would not be viewed as a valuable asset and they would not be so eager to remain under compliance to continue operations. ;D
