leader formula for steelhead

I hope that some one could suggest some leader formulas for me to hand tie some steelhead leaders. I will be using 8wt rods and lines and I want some leaders for swinging wet flies with floating line and I want to at least try Polish nymphing for pocket water. I dont need to go less than 6lbs on the tippet. I would like the leaders to be 10 ft or 12 for the swinging techniques. Where I fish the steelhead are not over pressured and I have never had to use the 4 and 5x tippets needed elsewhere. I have much experience tying trout leaders but have not tied my own steelhead and atlantic salmon leaders. Thank you.

I would just do what you usually do down to the 6lb tippit. A trout is a trout, some are just bigger than others

For on when fishing steelhead most people don't use the "x " factor they talk about leader and tippet in pound breaking strength.So its all relative depending on how you fish,if your swinging flies stick to standard tapered leader handbuilt or not,because usually when swinging down and across your usually not bottom bouncing so you can have heaveier tippet say 6-8pounds minimum remember on a swing the take is far harder than when nymphing so thats as low as i go and i use Maxima up there exclusively as well as i have switched back to maxima chameleon and ultragreen for my trout /smallmouth/largemouth/panfish leaders too.
if you are bottom bouncing using a slinky or splitshot tag witha swivel tapered to swivel is fine but using say 15/12/10 swivel then 8 pound or ten if water is up is fine.
