Since we ended up on the Esopus Saturday after the outing, I decided to get back up there this morning. I figured that was a good idea since I did not disinfect my gear. It's only slightly less than two hours from home so it was the right distance to fish for a half day then head home in time to beat the traffic.

I would rate the fishing as excellent. However, the Didymo situation is serious. I didn't see many insects hatching at all on both days. All I saw were there odd caddis, small blue winged olives and midges. If you fish here, PLEASE clean your equipment. Don't go to an uninfected stream until you have cleaned your gear. I have seen a few people reporting of great fishing and hitting up the Esopus and then heading to the Neversink and other Catskill streams. If you have doing this it is irresponsible.

So as I type this, my boots, waders and net have been sprayed with 409 and are drying outside. If you go here be prepared for some great , but also be sure to clean your gear.

Here are some photos...
