went back to the same river as last week. i did a lot of scouting and found some very large fish!! i waited to near dark for the insects to show up and ... this time they didnt. the hatch was very sparse at best. there were a few sulphers, iso and olives and even a few egg laying caddis. after waiting in a spot for an hour to see if a larger one rose i got bored and did some " lock and load " dry fly fishing. in forty five minutes i caught eight nice trout all between 14 and 18 inches long. i wish those stupid sulphers would have hatched. i saw a two trout yesterday that were 22" +++. >the big fish got me.... but i will be back. the fly of choice was a cdc sulpher sparkle dun in a size 16. when the few spinners fell i was doing well with a yellow poly winged spinner in the same size.
