    That stone pattern is killer. I tied a similar pattern using craft beads (pennies at the craft store) and couldn't believe how realistic it looked. The fish agreed. That fly landed me my biggest rainbow of the year after about 5 casts. How's that for a confidence builder?

    The only thing I've noticed about it when tying is that if you use the 1/4" scudbacks they tend to be a little big... They fold over down on the Partridge legs along the sides of the thorax, making the fly more caddislike than a stonefly. I think the solution is to go to 1/8" or see if you can slim the 1/4" strip down just a bit. I'll experiment this weekend and report back.
