We become who we learn from. Sometimes a master teacher is defined by ridiculous things like teacher certifications (which with the experience of some students teachers I have had lately, that doesn't mean much to me), but ALL teachers are certified by the experiences and learning that is gained by the pupils.

As a musician and teacher, people care about how much a student learns and/or how the master performs his craft. No body takes lessons in the musical world without obvious evidence of mastery of the skill. I know that most this is similar in all worlds.

Most of the people on this forum are better fishermen (or fisherpeople?) than I am, and I learn from all. Thanks for helping me AND the art.

At the end of the day, it all comes out in the wash.

I'm new to this forum and the sport actually. I've been on other forums and hear all the time this guy talkin smack about that guy etc...

Bottom line is there are those of us who want to learn and appreciate all the help we get from others with more experience than us. There are also those of us with monster ego's who cant help feeling they have to be the deal.

Bottom line is, none of us are the deal. The future of our sport, and the ones who folow in our footsteps are the deal.
