    Not-so sightfishing for Redfish

Had one day to get out in Florida this past weekend. Got out sightfishing for redfish. Well, at least that's what we tried to do. Wind was up at first but the sun was out. As time went on, sun went in and winds continued to be up. Saw a few fish throughout the day. Had only 2 chances to cast to fish. No hook ups. Fish were very few and far between to be seen. The most dissapointing fishing trip and day of fishing EVER! Plus, an expensive dissapointing day of fishing. The guide said he was going to comp me if he didn't book anyone. He said this on Saturday. Was going to take us on Monday. Well, guess what, he booked on Monday. Well, I won't let this experience turn me off. Standing on the front of the skiff was cool and looking for reds was exciting so I will definetly do it again. Will probably go to Tampa area next time.

I was in the Tampa area last week on a family vacation. I was looking to sneak out for a little fishing time. Went to a party boat (grouper, etc) on Friday morning....3 people showed up....no go.

Was thinking of doing some kind of charter for tarpon...getting information down there was like pulling teeth. I should have done some research ahead of time on charter captains.

I went out on an expensive 4 hour boat ride last year in Puerto Rico for blue marlin. Talk about disappointing....we just trolled for the entire time. Didn't see a thing and didn't even touch a rod.
