Ive been sick and tired of catching 8-14″ trout at all these spring creeks. I didnt want to tie my regular 4 dozen flies tonight so i decided to grab my 6wt and head to the crystal clear waters of Passaic County, NJ in search of the elusive golden bonefish that I have grown to love this summer.

The structure in the water might not be the usual rocks and plants of a trout streatm, rather old tires and discarded traffic cones, but if you can get past that the fish more than make up for the lack of scenery.

The fish were caught mostly on damselfly nymphs and 5x tippet. One fish caught today weighed more than my entire catch from my previous outing!!! The fish were bigger on average this trip as well!
