    William Joseph Thermometer

    I have one of those WJ infrared thermometers which worked ok for a while. I got it wet though and now it just says ER 5. I tried changing the batteries to no avail. Danged if I know what ER 5 means. Any suggestions? I may just get one of those low tech eco thermometers you stick on your waders if I can't get this one straightened out.

    I believe ER 5 is a code for Error message 5. If you have a troubleshooting section in the user manual it might say exactly what the error is.

    Actually, I remember the manual was just one sheet of paper and had basic instructions on it. Maybe I can do a search on it.

    Do a search for the make and model of the meter, you might find troubleshooting information at the manufacturer's website.
