My friend Ken and I hit the CFA at Point Mt yesterday. This was the first place that I fly fished last year and I was eager to go back now that I am a little experienced. Ken is an old school fly fisher and he was fishing a size 16 PT under an indicator. I used a long line approach with a PT dropper and a caddis larva anchor. I drew first blood, in the very spot that I hung 3 flies in a tree last year. It was sweet revenge in a way, I knew there was a fish there and the 12 inch brown proved me right. Ken soon followed with a nice 15 inch rainbow, a holdover from the spring. A few minutes later I got another brown but he threw the hook as I reached into the water to grab him. The trout seemed to turned off after that and we spen the rest of the evening catching sunnies.
I did see some rather large mayflies coming off as the sun was setting,,,isonychia?
