how much tippet should i put on for a nine foot four x leader thanks and yes im on a quest for my first fish im not that experienced.

This is a big function of fly size and type and presentation. To start out, add 18in of 4, 5 or 6X and start from there. Tie the tippet on with a triple surgeon's knot.
