    April Quitty, Tully, Hay ...

I believe these are becoming my "regular" streams.

The Hay has surprised me a few times. Some wild trout, and some hold overs in a normally "put and take" stream. Getting away from the big holes is my only saving grace. I look forward to hitting this stream in the "off season".

Tully is fickle. I am in the stream 1-2 times a week, be it for only an hour or two at a time but I learn from it every time. Every fish is work (work I love) but an effort. There is never a day since February that I haven't seen at least 2-3 other fishermen. I did learn when I do get to a deeper pool, I usually hit it a couple of times with a very heavy bugger with split shot before I concede defeat. It has almost always produced.

My wife and I visited the Quitty today. I have been there only 3 times but slowly growing on me. Medium sized and with a pretty good number of hold overs most of which are between 9-14 inches. Today my wife found a pod of stockies and hot them with a bugger. I am glad that she saw some success. It will allow me to fish a little more.

A funny thing happened today, I caught a 11" brookie in the Quitty, the closest place they stock brookies is in Snitz Creek a few mile up steam and back in eary March. It is good to see fish survive. It gives me hope.

Making your rounds eh Shol, sounds fun. Hit the East branch of the brandywine Friday. Caddis off the hook from 10:30 am to 1:00. Caught about a dozen and a half on dries in that time period. It's picking up. I think I'm going out to the state college area later this week may stay a night.

You amaze me. Still 5-8 fish for me is a major feat. Much better than two years ago, but I have a ways to go.

I will most likely be at the Penns Creek and Elk Creek the weekend of May 15th. I will be up and around the PA Fly Fish Jamboree.

I've never fished the Tully I have to slide up there soon. That is a trip thru alot of traffic for me, it's a little bigger stream though right? Good luck up to Penns if you make it, taking the wife?

No wife, no dog either, just me and some bugs.

About the Tully, it has some fantastic bugs and hatches, just of late, the bugger seems to works as a last resort.
