i dont know anything about orvis fly lines. however i am pretty sure that they are made by cortland. hey for 25 bucks you should give it a go. thats a good enough price to make trying it worth it. if you are looking for a line that is very slick you might be better off with a rio orf sa line. you can even try the rio nymph line if you are going to fish for steelhead. it is a very good line and floats very high on the surface. sa makes a very similar line that is a little more stealthy. i actually like the orange tip on the rio line. it helps with mending. also, the line has a welded loop onto the end which makes it unsinkalble.
btw what kind of rod do you plan on using for the steelies. that will make a little bit of different. also, are you going to strike indicator fish or tight line with lots of weight?
