    Dryfly midge patterns?

Hey guys, being as its wintertime, midge season is upon us (at least out here). I've tied some griffith's gnats and this pattern I found online called Dale's Midge Adult http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...IJn4tAOzj7nlAg

I was wondering if anyone had some other midge dry patterns to contribute that I could give a whack at.

I tie two two Versions of Griffith's Gnats, peacock Color and white/cream, but with both versions I tie a clump of cdc at the head of the fly.. Fist it helps you see it, Second it helps it float, and third of all it acts like a small wing..Try the cdc out, works very well..

I've heard of people putting some badger fur (I think?) off the back of the griffith's gnat to act as a tail/abdomen, where the hackle itself is more like a thorax.

I like the Griffiths Gnat as well and tie'em down to size 26.

I also like to tie in a very small trailing shuck. I simply cut it off stream side if it's not doing the trick. That what you have both the emerger and the full adult covered.
