Good review. I knew you'd probably dig that lineup. Can't wait to get a few myself and put them through the paces. 1 question: do you think the 3wt a bit light? Would you go up to a 4wt for an all around euro comp rod?
I finally got to break in the rod today. All I can say is WOW and double WOW. The action was perfect for using long leader Euro techniques. I was using a size 16 as the anchor fly and I was easily casting the set up 25 feet.... which was my leader length. The rod has a great action for playing fish. I landed every fish I hooked this morning, which was quite a few for the short time that I was out. I highly recommend this rod to anyone looking for the "perfect" rod for these techniques. Also, at around 300 dollars you won't have to stop eating for a month to buy it ;D
The Rod also feels incredibly light in the hand. I matched it up with a Ross Evolution size 3. Great combo. I can't believe the rod does not cost more... but who's complaining![]()

I would not go up to the four weight.however, I would get another three weight as a back up! I can land any fish on that three weight. The action of the rod is perfect for keeping the hooks in the fish and protecting leaders.
WHO SELLS THE GREYS RODS IN THE STATES?
I am sure that Torrey can get you one drop shipped to your door. Give him a shout at the shop 860-672-1010. You will also save tax and the shipping.
Aaron got the first one available in the US, they should be available in early February for those of you who want one.

Kyle: that rod is probably not the best "first" nymphing rod. You might prefer something a bit more general purpose and in a heavier line weight.
He is going out for the Team USA youth team. That's why he needs it.
alanb,
What would you suggest? I like the streamflex series in general, got to test one at my freind's shop (not the 10' 3wt but they are still nice), I'd wrather start off with something good wrather than upgrade in a year. And I trust Aaron's suggestion on the rod, but if you have a suggestion I'd like to hear that too.
