    Salmon River Steelhead

    Now that I am in the proper location for this topic ;D Can anone lay some good late season steelhead advice on me for the Salmon River?

    fish in the fastest water to avoid the smolts. the steelies are very aggressive and can be caught on both nymphs and streamers.

    Since the water is high in the spring, the fish tend to hold closer to shore. The fish will be right at your feet if the water is high

    the only difference is in the winter you fish the inside of the seam. now that the water temps are up and the water is high you will do much better in the actual seam thats where they will be. when the water comes down you will do well fishing the same type of lies that you would for stream trout.
