I hit the Pequannock first today. I love this place and as the season goes on and the stockers get taken out the browns are everywhere. Even with the overnight rain the water was super low and clear. When the water is like this 20-30ft casts are a must but you know right where their going to be. I worked my way through my favorite strech of water picking apart every pocket. I ended up with a bunch all about 8 inches and one about 12. I love the browns in this river they have the prettiest colors.

Good looking for a stocker

A bunch this size

I could catch these all day long

Thats a blue spot

Doesn't get clearer than this

Hmmmmm

The Gorge was the total opposite in the afternoon, high and muddy. Fishing was still good as usual but I couldn't get any kind of steady pattern going, I got fish on everything from vladis to PTs but nothing would hold up for more than 20 mins it seemed like. I changed flies alot today but it payed off, now I just need more tippet. I got a few stockers here and there but the majority of the fish were wild browns, mostly little guys and one about 13 inches or so. I met TPO member Mike on the river today also. We started BSing when I asked him where he learned to Euro nymph (Aaron surprise, surprise). He also mentioned he thought I was a TPO member based upon my large net in my wading belt (Is this the official TPO uniform?). Mike had the fish of the day with a nice big wild brown out of some fast pocket water.

The Gorge, isn't she pretty?

Lots of these in the Gorge

My best fish of the day
