I took my son to Pulaski this past weekend to do a little steelheading. We fished the upper river but we stayed below where the crouds were. The fishing was a little slow but we did better than the people around us. My son went 1 for 3 and I went 1 for 9. I could have landed more but untill my son landed his oun fish i was playing hook & hand. After he hooked and landed his oun fish it was every man for himself.
We only saw one other fish hooked in the area that we were fishing so of corse every one wanted to know what we were using. I think its is hard for a lot of the guys that fish the salmon river to get away from egg paterns. All the fish that my son and I hooked were on black stone flies, olive woolybuggers and green cadis larva paterns mostly in drab colors.
The weather sucked it rained, snowed, sleet, high winds you name it we fished in it.
