    Farmington Opening Day

met up with a few guys from the site! there were eight of us. hopefully there will be 28 next time! fishing was ok... not as good as yesterday. Trout5 hooked into a monster and as soon as it was hooked it was gone. he caught some other nice ones as well. at the end of the day i landed a beast that was very conservatively 6 pounds.... maybe more! awesome fish and it was released unharmed for you guys to get later.

i had to pose with the new brodin ghost net. its a very fashionable net... get one ;D

I saw all you guys out there, but you were all far afield and spread out. I fished there too with a couple friends. We did quite well. The conclave crew and all the TPO stickers made a nice convoy along the river. Not on par with Aaron's monster 'bow, but many nice holdovers were caught. Here are the pictures (not me in the pictures, my friend). The trout in the standalone picture had a nice black stonefly stuck in his tail; you can also see the Black Super Bugger in its mouth.

Aaron- you truly are the "New Jersey Breeder King", and I bow to you. That is a big, fat rainbow- but my 27", 8# plus, weighed & measured breeder got u beat boy!!! Congrats on breaking the 20" "barrier" on the Farmington, no more Unicorn. Hey, that's pretty good, it only took you 8 years or so to get a truly big one there, Lol. If you need any more Farmington pointers, just ask me or Defeatist, we'll hook ya up.

I drove all the way to Conn and didn't even get a stinkin bumper sticker. What's up with that? The Farm is a beautiful looking piece of water. You all have got to come up to try it. The conclave crew almost had two over 20 fish in the net but I blew it. I let the Predator down. Guess I'll have to get up there again soon to redeem myself.

    Re: Farmington Opening Day

Hey Aaron, did you have a hard time throwing that one back? I remember catching my biggest CT trout ever there, and holding it in the water for a good 10 minutes after I caught it. Fortunately, even though my camera wasn't working that day, Eddie was downstream and he came up and took pix, so I let her go without a though. Always nice to have a pic to give you a great memory. And when the bog ones go back, at least one more person gets to have a chance at what might be the thrill of a lifetime for them. Nice job buddy.

    Aaron,

    Wow! Just three questions.

How long after I left did you catch that bruiser?
    Nymph or streamer?
    When's the next conclave?

Hey Nymph, there were so many witnesses standing on that bridge, Aaron put on a show for them. We had been talking about TPO too, everyone was watching what he did with that fish and some couldn't believe he put it back. Hooking those two bruisers was some good advertising. Hopefully we made some c&r converts but it's tough when you're holding a pig like that. The old ego fires up. Thank goodness for photos!
