How come no one on here ever talks about the East Branch? Or Rondout Creek? We've heard about the Willowemoc, Beaverkill, NEversink and W.B. What's the deal with these two other places?

Those places are very good early season fisheries. However, they get warm in the summer and do not fish very well until the fall. Unfortunately New York's season closes Sept. 30th on these rivers.. I think. I am pretty sure that Roundout Creek gets a major spawning run of fish. Too bad you can't fish for them.

My grandfather used to own 100 acres on the upper Roundout. His neighbor once caught a 34" brown there on a worm, and he ate it! Said they had to cut it in half, it wouldn't fit in the oven. Browns get up to and over 20# in some of those NY reservoirs, feeding on Alewife, so you have an outside shot at a monster.

i cannot fathom a 34 inch trout. i can fathom eating it even less. If I had killed it, I would probably have stuffed it. Lord, how old must that fish have been? Awesome!
