Leonard, I can't wait to try the PMS! It's at the forefront of my box, ready to go!

So far, my favorite, and best producing streamer has been a sculpin pattern by Nightfisher (Tony). It should come with a warning sign for the trout! "Warning, or Dangerous" ;D

I also look forward to trying that nasty jointed streamer that Aaron has mentioned. I saw some of those being tied, and from what I've heard, they are like nothing other when fished at the right places.

I want to try those two Barr streamer patterns this year. They seem very versatile, both in terms of fishing conditions and type of fish that you're after.

    Re: Streamer Patterns

what is the Rod's jointed trout streamer? This streamer sounds big... and I love huge streamers, any pictures or tying instuctions? I have my own huge tandem streamers but they are not anyhting special, but they catch big fish. It isn't always true the bigger the fly, the bigger fish, but sometimes it is and I fish the huge streamers to keep the little buggers away. And i have heard a lot about night fishing with streamers, is there any ideas how to do this better, any advise is good to me, I have tried my luck with little success at night, but I am looking to get into it

Joe Humphries put out a night video years ago. I think its an excellent resource! It taught me a lot.

About the fishing, find a place where you know there are big fish. Go there with 20 a pound test leader and a big dark streamer and swing it through there... Chances are something will attach itself to it!

I want to see that video too. There is a night fishing chapter in "On the Stream with J.H.", so I imagine the video is an exploration of those techniques.

    Re: Streamer Patterns

20 is a little heavy for me haha, but not too heavy, becuase i typically fish 0x which is 15.5 pound test, but you'll be surprised the fish don't seem to care that much, becuase if you are fishing correctly on the bottom the fish can't see floro and are way more interested in your presentation than your tippet! the only thing is that heavier line is harder to get deeper, b/c it has more drag, i am still interested in the pictures of these huge streamers becuase i am always looking for new patterns
