Sound like a great day and good size fish
Mike
Made it up to the river today , got to ovation about 11 oclock and had it to my self the river seemed to have be a bit lower than last time I was there , so I tied on a nymph and and away we go .Got a hit on the first drift down and missed it still getting used to the yarn float .So I just keeped on fishing, the second time the yarn stoped I set the hook and it was on .I was able to bring this one to the net and she was a large brownie 16 inches long a hold over .So I tried my luck one more time and it paid off with one more brownie about 13 inches long. fished for about three hours I think it was a great day![]()

10X, it sounds like this is a new approach to nymphing for you; it is a lot of fun, especially when the fish tell you you're doing it right![]()
You are going to love the sensitivity of yarn indicators - they are great.
Word of Caution - Do with it what you wish -
If you have a great day on the Farmington in the Upper TMA (or the Hous or other popular rivers), you may not want to be too specific about the spots - except the Church pool of course; everyone expects to find crowds there. :
It will only become a problem as we get into the busier season, but that is rapidly approaching. Not trying to call you out specifically - I just think its something we'll all need to start thinking about again - I tend to drop my guard about this in the winter.
If the line ain't tight, ya ain't doin it right
SloNDeep it is new for me, for years I would just swing nymphs like wets and I know I missed a lot of fish. Thanks for the advise and I will keep it up.Hey troutfishing4life they were nice any time I can get out this early is nice thanks for the feed back
