Thank you AJ for the thread body!

The thread body (size 18) is very quickly becoming my most productive/go-to fly. I have really hammered the fish on it this season. Big fish, little fish, wild browns, wild bows - they all seem to love it. With all of the variations of size, bead color, thread, dubbing color I might just try to fill an entire box with them. I fished the Little Juniata today, and 9 of the 11 fish I caught took an 18 olive thread body (black bead, black rib, UTC light olive thread, Natural Fox Spikey Squirrel dubbing). Here's the big fish of the day and a nice surprise of a wild bow.

    post some pictures.

I like thread body flies as well, you can use the same concept by using stripped quills, or wire, etc. I do that alot. Thread body, bead, spiky dub. Thread body, bead, cdc and a little spiky dub. Wire body, bead, cdc or dub. you can create some cool, easy to tie stuff using that formula.

That's my go to fly but I use a copper bead and copper rib simple and deadly. I have at least 10 variations of it in my box. Good report what section were you fishing?

Nice! I'm glad it works and you like it.

The best was yesterday, I landed the 19 incher and Bryan was like you got it on that stupid thing The look on his face was priceless. Easy to make impressionistic flies work!

I'll have to tie some up. Are you using a nymph hook or an emerger hook?

I use a standard nymph hook, but I'm sure an emerger hook would work just fine too.

I love simple flies that work. With this you can't get much more simple! I will post some pics later.
