Just got back from a great trip to the ausable river in Michigan. Lots of Brookies during the day on small bwo's, patriots, and terrestrials. Then at night the big flies came out like deer hair mice and big zoo cougars. I caught a 19 inch brown on top water in pitch black on a giant mouse. Then my dad caught a 21 inch brown at the dock were trout unlimited was founded on a zoo cougar. I would recommend this to everyone in search of big native browns as this river is not stocked. It was a challenging fishery but very rewarding.
