Welcome Derick! I think that you should check out the types of nymphs that you want to fish, buy a couple of extras of each, and de-construct them. Watching videos and reading books helps a lot, but having a nymph that you can take apart really helps, IMHO. And don't go crazy on your first vise, either. I made it by with a $70 cheapo vise for a year or so, just to make sure that I really wanted to spend the time tying my own. That online auction site has a lot of good deals on used vises and tools, too.
