    My Two Favorite Flies

    S.B.D. = Simple but deadly!

    As far as fishermen go, Captain Ahab was pretty tame.

    Simple usually equals deadly. Like a red zebra midge.

    I would add a hare dubbing thorax on the PT, for making it more alive in the water.

    That is a modified Casual Dress. I like the Casual Dress in its natural state, but I also like to make my own hybrids by mixing it with other flies that I like. The version in the picture has grizzly hen hackle palmered over the body like a wooly worm and a collar of pheasant rump like the Sparrow.

    I use fox squirrel back fur also, but the PT in the picture is the most basic version I tie. Both versions seem to work pretty darn well.
