    Hardy Marksman 10' 4wt line

    Hello,

I have found a Hardy Marksman 10' 4wt at a fantastic price and have just purchased it. I will use it for all my
nymphing as well as fishing wee wets, spiders etc.

I was thinking of getting a Cortland 444 DT line (peach), partly for the colour but also because it's very supple.
Does anyone have any comments on this line for the above applications or suggest an alternative ?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all,
    Steven

I have used that line on my smaller 8ft Marksman. Seems to work ok, I use the line on my 4wt bamboo, it does better on that rod. I was going to get a Rio line for it.

Davy-what makes your preference the Snowbee over most other lines, you've been favoring them for some time.

I also use this line on my 10' Marksman and I like it so I think you will too.

Would you agree that if you do not take good care of your lines, for example clean them, then a Snowbee might not be the beat option.

The RIO is more dirt resistant, and requires little to no care... I like that!

steven- don't know if you have a line for this rod yet, but i have been fishing the 10' 4wt marksman for a few years now and gone through a couple of different lines ( rio gold wf4, rio nymph 4,) and i have finally found the perfect (for me) line in a wf5f. I am using the hardy marksman wf5f, but i would imagine that the rio gold in the 5 would be nice as well. To me it slows the action down just enough to make dry fly fishing with the rod more 'doable' and enjoyable and it doesn't hinder the nymphing a bit. It also makes it easier to throw larger streamers and a sink tip if i need to without a problem. I don't typically agree with overlining a rod, but in the case of longer (9'+) rods, the heavier line weight has made a nice difference! The marksman has a stiffer tip than do the streamflex models... I tried overlining them and it wasn't good my 2 cents...
