I do know that an inverted trailing hook is a good idea for patterns with long rabbit strips or any materials that can get fowled up in trailing hooks, it allows for the streamer to be fished properly without messing up the profile of the fly by entangling materials. Also it hels prevent the trailing hook from getting caught on the front hook.
