Fishing for them has been good to excellent all Summer, with literally only a handful of slower days. Lots of bass caught, and plenty of good sized ones in the 14-17" range, with a few true 18" class fish caught- that's a legitimate 3 pound Smallie, a big river bass almost anywhere, and prob about 15 years old in the Housy. Make sure to release your better bass, it takes a long time to grow a replacement. On the up side, Natural Flow seems to be really benefitting the bass, they are getting progressively bigger since it started 3 years. Bigger streamers & nymphs, crayfish patterns, and topwaters have all produced good action of late. The primary forage for bass here in the Summer is definitely the crayfish, they are here in abundance. The current very low flow has the fish concentrated, and it's possible to rack up the numbers if you cover a lot of water. Most Housy fishermen will switch back to trout now that September and cooler water temps are here, but bass should fish quite well this month if you target them specifically.
