thanks for the tip on the worms I will try it soon...and I have fished Spinney a couple of times with good results....I had fun but I'm not into still water fishing for the most part...not sure why just havent developed a real taste for it. They have done a couple of periodic stockings to try to rebuild the rainbow fishery. It has become more of a brown trout fishery. The fire really wreaked havoc on the river its been 9 years and still recovering slowly
The owner is an ok guy...but just doesnt get how to run that kind of business...I suspect a very small % of his business comes from locals because of this, which is a shame because if weather/fires etc hurt tourism then he will go down the drain...as it is he practically begs for business in winter on his website....its probably best you didnt invest in that particular business..the lack of business right after the fire would have hurt...
I will give those worms a try soon...thank you.

If l had of taken that business l would not have relied on local business entirly. l have many world wide connections for generating tourist business from fly fishers not to mention mail order, flies, DVDs, TV shows, consultancy and so on.
There was a time that Co had more retail fly shops than any other State, not so sure that is the case now days. How many stores now left in downtown Denver.

I will say this. I have been following this thread with great enthusiasm, and as usual, I continue to learn from Davy. I've been fishing for nearly 50 years. Much of it as a wet fly fisherman. I've learned a lot here from Davy, and I've purchased and viewed, a number of times, Davy's DVD. Every time I view it I have picked up more great info. Davy is absolutely correct when he says most American fly fisherman do not know these techniques. I am of the opinion that fly fishing IS a learning process - a process which is never ending. Davy has been most informative and his knowledge is wonderful. I recommend his DVD. Thanks for sharing, Davy!

Here here. Wet Fly Ways is certainly a great DVD. I learn something new every time I watch it. Plus it doubles as a tool to get my kid to nap.
