    Ant hatch before the floods

After seeing the ant hatch in the Stafford to Enfield area on Friday afternoon on my way home, I just had to get one more trip in to the Farmington before Ireene spoiled things. I have never seen anything like it on Friday. Any one else notice all the flying ants? Well I got to the river around 7ish and fished above the upper TMA saturday morning. I started with trico's and had few interested but, fish were rising to something else. As I was pondering my choices it started to drizzle a bit and the fish started to really rise. The harder it rained the more active the feeding. Thats when I realized that the creepy crawly feeling on the back of neck was not rain running down my back, of course I left the rain gear in the truck, but the ants were still hatching. And alot of them!!! The fish wanted a size 22 but all I had was a couple 20's. It worked on a couple more but they were really tuned into the smaller size. Left the water soaked around 1:00 to go prepare for the big blow. Hope everyone is safe.
