Thanks for all of the replies!

    Magnet,
Its funny you mentioned the TiCR for a streamer rod because I am currently using a 9 foot 6 weight TiCRx for my streamer rod. I love the rod and you can't beat the price. As for using the shorter leader(i.e. 3 or 4 feet) I do use a leader with that length when I am throwing a sink tip. I usually only use that set up when the water is up, which isn't often. I will have to give it more of a try.

After discussing this topic on another board I've come to the conclusion that the fish is just not fully committing to the fly. I think if they really want the streamer, they will get it. If the fish I'm missing are missing due to bad aim at a slow moving streamer, than they would never catch the real thing out in the wild. I think it's either the presentation or the pattern that they are not keen on.

I fish streamers a couple times a week all winter and I rarely have a bad day. I'm just looking for ways to increase my hooking percentage. I think a higher percentage of missed fish is just a part of streamer fishing! Hooking percentage seems to be much higher fishing nymphs.

if the fish are hitting your streamer to stun it. try giving some slack after the hit letting the streamer drift down stream, and if that is whats happening the fish should come back and try to eat its stunned prey.

Hi guys! I'm a new member here in this forum. I joined this one because I'm so inlove about fishing. It is one of my favorite hobbies. Mind if you guys give me some advice how to catch big fish using a fishing lure? Because one time I did, but since it is too big & too heavy, that fish freed itself. I really want to catch a big one to post it in my blog and for another achievement for myself. So, hope you guys really can help me in this matter. Thanks in advance! =)
