    dubbing

Maybe this belongs under tying, but Aaron, I was wondering what type of dry fly dubbing you use. I use spirit river fine and dry because I like the company and it works well. Is there something anyone has found to be better?
You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.

i use motly the al cauccis spectumized dubbing. but for the sulfurs i use the superfine. for isonychia i use a variety of dubbings. if you feel that the dubbing is too "buggy" which is what i think you are getting at... try using dubbing wax to achieve that slim body on your flies.

Ha! I find dog saliva works extremely well to spin dubbing also. it has a nice tackiness and doesn't affect the fishability whatsoever. I throw my dog's ball while I'm tying and the moistness it leaves on my fingers works great!

Maybe i will have to go adopt a dog today... The dubbing wax is much less expensive and a heck of a lot easier to clean up after ;D
