Staten Island

I will be in Staten Island for Thanksgiving. Is there any good trout rivers close by? I was hoping to stay under a hours drive. Thanks for the help.

The hardest t yopart is going to be leaving Staten Island to go fishing. There has to be some good carp ponds there and I am sure that the striper fishing should be good on the south shore.

Like Aaron said, if you want salt, there is some good surf/shore fishing to be had. I haven't done it, but know a lot of guys that do. In terms of ponds, there are quite a bit of them, I'm not sure if bass are year round, but there definitely are some carp in those waters. Fat off of bread and all sorts of picnic food.
