DIY sink tips and wader repair

I have some old sinking fly line that I would like to make into sinking heads, say 5', 10' etc. What is the best way of putting a loop on the old line for a loop to loop connection with the floating fly line?
Secondly, it has been a long time since I repaired some goretex waders. I have a pinhole leak where water comes in at my knee level.
On the outside there is a 4 inch knife like tear of the outside of inner knee area. I believe I did that clilmbing sharp stony berms while fishing. Now, how can I find the pinhole in the inside and should I patch only the inside ,or deal with the long tear on the outside, or both? What is an easy way to find the inside hole?

spray the inside of the wader with rubbing alchohol...the pinholes will appear as distinct dark spots. cirlcle them with a pen and let dry then just dab a tiny amount of aquaseal over the pinhole with your finger seriously a tiny amount that you press into the hole. that should do it...ive done it lots on a 4 yr old pair and works great...but the inside of my waders are becoming a big swatch of dried up aquaseal...,the breathability is not what it was but the patches are holding up great.

For the DIY sink tips, whip a loop on the ends.

    - Fold the end over itself to make a loop
    - Get some 3/0 tying thread in a bobbin and start to wrap a thread base over the loop like you would start thread on a hook
    - Once you get a small base, hold the fly line in your hands like you would hold a piece of corn. The bobbin should be hanging free between your hands.
    - Start to make a circular motion with your hands to get the bobbin flying around the line to build up the thread (don't crack yourself in the head with the bobbin
    - Whip finish the knot and coat with glue. I use Liquid Fusion clear urethane from the craft store. It is like epoxy, but better.

I whip loops in the end of my floating line to make loop to loop connections with a leader.
As far as fishermen go, Captain Ahab was pretty tame.

Fold the line over and make a loop,,,,,, tie on a mono nail knot over the doubled line,,,,, coat with Zap A Gap or Loon Knotsense.

Quick and inexpensive way to make sink tips.

I carry some in my leader wallet in 6ft, 8ft and 10ft lenghts with loops on both ends.
