    furry (woolly) bugger

I am a fan of rabbit fur, Rich Osthoff's soft-hackle bugger/worm, and of the PMS. So, I recently tied up a bunch of woolly worms using a dubbing loop and rabbit strips to create the hackle. Rabbit strips are nice because they can easily be inserted into the dubbing loop and then you can cut the hide off and twist. The tails of my worms were made of rabbit or marabou. The marabou tails were on stream modifications when I ran out of rabbit fur tails. I simply shortened the tail of some fur buggers I tied.

Anyhow I tested the woolly worms yesterday on some carp and bass. Needless to say I slaughtered them both with this furry creature. 8 carp (more hooked and lost) sight fishing and over 10 smallmouth in 4 hours of work.
As far as fishermen go, Captain Ahab was pretty tame.
