Wild trout or native trout in spawning colors...the apex of which would be "salter" Brook Trout followed by Steelhead
Which of the following great fish do you prefer fly fishing for and fighting and why: steelhead, chinook, coho, atlantic salmon or brown trout? I cannot decide because everytime I fish for one of them, I think it is the best. When I have a double digit steelhead ripping and jumping there is nothing better... untill I have an Atlantic on my fly! Then, I recall the impossible heavyness of a really big chinook! What do you think?

E...Carp. They are difficult to catch. They fight like hell. They are readily available.
As far as fishermen go, Captain Ahab was pretty tame.

I am going to go with a 15 inch plus trout out of Letort Spring Run.
They are everything that fly fishing is about to me. It's about tricking the fish and there you need many tricks to do so...
For me...a 48" Bluefin tuna..getting a fly in front of them is difficult, then once the fly is there you have to convince them its food...then sinking the hook in deep enough to keep them on is another problem...to get all three facets of the game right is a little bit skill and a little bit luck...then well fighting them...its a test for sure ...in my BFT career I have hooked over a dozen on the fly but landed only two. I have taken several on spin gear but on the fly is the ultimate challenge.

My first 20"+ Brown.......When I first saw him flash the adrenaline kicked in and the fight was on. Never thought I would be shaking after netting a fish!

Hard to answer this one.
Guess l have been very fortunate so far as catching very large Browns, in so far as my river has many of them, to date 25.6 my best, many 5 to 10 pounds.
Then l also love to saltwater fish and here it would be a 23lb Permit.
Above all for me it is the Atlantic Salmon that is the king of game fish, here again l lived for many years close to a famous Salmon river in Wales and caught very many of those guys from this river and many others l fished in EU.
So for me it is the Atlantic Salmon on a fly, there is no finer fish so far as a freshwater species, more so if it is a fish just in from the ocean.
ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!! ;D
