Yes l would agree as this was exactly the reason why it came into use many years ago when only mono was out there.
No question of doubt when we fished stillwaters it sank the mono and thus allowed way better presentations for our chironomids and percentage wise way more takes.
It was very clear that others who did not use it caught way less fish.
To some extent FC has now provided a option we did not have at that time.
Its only other major advantage is to reduce flash, and that is also at times a definite bonus factor.
The White river is most of the time gin clear and no question of doubt that there are times given certain light conditions that leader/tippet flash will spook fish.

I don't know. I purchased Fuller's earth and made a paste out of it with dishwashing detergent. I used it several times this weekend, but can still see the silhouette of my tippet lying on the water next to the fly. If I can see it, I'm sure fish can.

I' plan to keep working with it but so far I remain skeptical as to whether it's worth the time.

try some vegetable glycerine into the mix i also use uncented dish soap both you can find at a healthfood store the glycerine will help it to sink.
made right it will catch more fish
