Glad you had a good time!
Well after being cancelled twice due to the weather I finally had a chance to go out with Aaron on a guided trip to the Farmington River. This was my first trip with Aaron of whom I have heard so many stories about, so I was both excited beyond belief and a bit nervous. The weather was perfect although a bit cold. It was 41 degrees with drizzle and the water temp was 47. I met Aaron at 7:00 at upcountry and immediately we were off to our first stop. I must say I have never seen someone rig up a line so fast! Before I knew it we were in the water and into fish within the first 15 min. I was taught the long line Euro technique and by the end of the day I was casting an 18 ft. leader 25- 30 ft. AND catching fish!! This is truly a remarkable way to catch fish. One of the funniest things that happened was this. Aaron and I gingerly waded across the river in above waist high fast moving water to get to a spot he thought held fish. So here I am standing on 2 greased bowling balls trying to cast this leader system into this run around 25 ft away. After a few casts I hook into a nice rainbow and then Aaron says " now I have to figure a way to get you AND the fish back to the shore!!! We made it back with Aaron holding onto me and I'm fighting the fish LOL good times!! By the end of the day we landed over 10 and lost a few more. What a great day!
I must say this. Aaron is an extremely patient, knowledgeable, and fun guide to go out with. I threw a couple into the trees, tangled the leader, and he never made me feel uncomfortable. He is all about teaching and catching fish. He got excited when he saw me making some nice cast. I would highly recommend Aaron to anyone who is interested in taking his game to the next level, or just wants to learn more about how to catch more trout! An investment well worth it!
Glad you had a good time!

Thats great Frank! So you got to experience the patented Jasper,"I gotcha dont worry" wading technique. I experienced it in back of Kelly's while crossing the Madison. He saw I was having a little trouble and was a little nervous so he hollered, "stay there!" So he comes over and says,"hang onto my waders and we will cross together" So I start hanging on tight as we go. Now Im pretty big and weigh 250. All of a sudden we started not making any headway so he calmly turns to me and said," Bob, I want you to relax and let me down. My feet are off the bottom!" I didnt even realize it I was holding on so tight!![]()
Bob , That is hillarious!! I laughed my ass of when I read this. Oh yea Aaron asked me to ask you if you would tie me some of your patented Vladi's![]()
Frank, I would totally echo your feelings about Aaron. Totally patient and he wants to see you succeed on the water and get the fishing right by yourself by the end of the day. Willing to pick many flies out of trees (I know from experience) and not going to make you feel bad if you make a mistake.
Frank, ;D Don't worry gotcha covered. I have started working on them already!

That fifth one from the bottom, with the dark underbody, looks really nice. Almost like a garden worm.
Bob,
That one on the bottom looks pretty fishyThanks, you are a riot!
You can use it as shark bait![]()
the one on the bottom is killer!
Steve (aka Troutaholic) from the site calls it "the Vladie's finger."
