Hello everyone. I saw a post below with the same topic, and I thought it was such a great idea that I stole it for myself.
I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone on here at this great site. My name is Len and I am 16 years old. I live in SE PA. I have been fly fishing for the last 7 plus years, tying for the last 4 and I have loved every minute of it. I can be found chasing native brookies in the many mountain creeks throughout PA, swinging streamers with a two hander on the Lehigh, Clarion and Allegheny rivers, chasing blues and stripers up and down the NJ coast and just about everywhere in between. I love to catch giant trout on giant articulated Galloup style streamers that I tie, to chase steelhead across the Great Lakes looking for that next fresh chrome bullet, catching
gator blues on big Popovics bucktail designs and topwater poppers or to spend a day at a lake or pond catching largemouths on deer hair poppers and divers. It doesn't matter, I love it all. My specialties at the vice include woven polish nymphs, articulated streamers, steelhead and salmon flies (tubes, articulated flies and traditional speys) and any saltwater flies with bucktail which is one of my favorite materials to tie with. Again, I love it all.
This is a great site, and I hope that I can contribute and help others in the same way that others have helped me to learn and to become a better fisherman. I am really looking forward to my time on here and I hope to meet many new people who share the same love for hunting and fishing as I do.
I'm 16 and I love the outdoors.

Welcome aboard this site is great for pure fly fishing info. You'll be another valuable resource that makes up this plethora of info.
Thanks for the welcome guys. Good luck out there.

Len,
What rivers do you fish most often?
Welcome Len! It's great to see a younger member so enthusiatic about fly fishing!
Aaron,
I fish the Lehigh the most, due to the fact that its the closest, but I tend to fish smaller creeks around home more often. I really love fishing the Lehigh though, and would fish larger rivers more than creeks if I could, but there really aren't many good trout rivers around here. So because there aren't lots of rivers, the creeks are what I use to get my fix. My favorite around home are Ridley, Ithan and Valley creeks. I also fish Darby creek because its right down the road, but that is a terrible creek with lots of trash (no matter how much I pick up), low and clear water a lot of the time, a sandy bottom with little or no rocks in many spots, just a slow and meandering current and really just an all around terrible trout stream. During the spring, the water is usually already in the mid 60's and forget it in the summer. I think that smallies have trouble in that creek. Anyway, thats my little rant for today. On another note, my Dad works in North Jersey and he is always telling me about the many creeks that look, and I quote, "great for trout", on his way to work, so I may be adding quite a few new ones to my list in the near future. Thanks again for the great welcome guys.
