Nice Davy! Thank you for the tip!
Got to messing around today.
Using a section of fly line about 1ins in length threaded onto the tippet is not a new idea, problem is when using fine x it moves.
Try this one.
Cut from one of those Q tips a short section, you can get these in different colors by the way.
Set that on your tippet. Now take one round section tooth pick and set in at each end of the Qtip section the pointed end. use both of course.
Break them off close to the Q or cut them. You will still be able to move the indicator but it should stay fixed.
This is a means for fishing small flies in generally shallow water zones, as large amounts of weight cannot be used, all be it you can of course lengthen the Q tip from say 1/2 to 2 ins.
With no adverse effects to the sight detection.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Davy,
Do you like Kelly's system, where he uses the outer fly line coating? I used it for a little while. It's nice for an in line indicator. You can put multiple pieces on your line for added strike detection.
Aaron.
Dave Whitlock showed me that one years ago and it is good if the diameter of the line is thick enough do it does not move.
Downside is if you screw your system, it is not a quick fix while on the water, in fact getting the needle through the line can be a pain.
The system l talk about here can be fixed in seconds.
