Hey fishy,
Welcome!
Can't wait to see what you've tied!
Hey Guys. I am really happy to see this forum has a section for youth fly fishermen. most sites don't have it so i thought that i would join up.
some about me.
I started fly fishing 2 years ago. I happened to walk into an outfitter and the guide offered to take me fly fishing for free so i learned from there. I fish around the east. I really like fishing for trout but i also enjoy smallmouth bass and pike. I try out for the U.S. Youth Fly fishing Team in State College PA. I also do other competition fishing. I have a 2 fly competition coming up. Most of my warmwater fishing is from my kayak a heritage redfish 12. I tie most of the flies that i use and hope to post some of them here shortly. I am a total gear junkie and enjoy buying nice equiptment when i have saved the money up. My Favorite rod companies are Scott and Sage. This winter i want to learn to build bamboo rods. My biggest trout to date is a 18" rainbow and my biggest smallmouth is a 15" I really enjoy fishing the backcountry of the Shenandoah moutains for native brook trout. My favorite methods to catch trout would be tandem nymphing, swing streamers and hopper droppers.
just some about me.
thanks

Read through the nymphing threads about all the Euro stuff and you will be in good shape for the youth comp, that is, if you practice. I am sure that would not be a problem given your enthusiasm.
What got you interested in fly fishing?
