Nice trout! They eat better than the average household dog!!! Hahahaha
we hit the jack pot today..... we hammered them at the little j. justin did great on nymphs. i tried streamers today and caught a ton of nice browns between 14 and 16 inches on the spey rod. justin got fish up to twenty one inches at the little j. at the little j we saw tan caddis, grannoms, craneflies and sulphers hatching. all of the appropriate nymphs worked well. we also fished a nearby creek. we did awesome!!!
this bad girlweighed in at 11.88 pounds based on the formula
another trout that was an easy ten pounds

Looks like some of them could eat the average household dog!![]()
You guys sure that giant one isn't a Lake Erie Steelhead? Hell, those would be big even if they actually were! Very big, very nice fish. What size tippet were you guys landing those beasts on?

Unbelievable Guys! I have to get there this weekend and check this place out. Never made it up back in March.
Great Pictures!
Just curios guys. What "famous limestone spring creek" were you fishing? I can only think of one, but that's definitely not the public section of that stream.

haha its spruce. we got lucky. we were on our way home and asked someone if we could fish there and they said yes. it was fun for about two hours and then it got boring so we left for home. ill tell you what... if you asked would i like to catch 10 pound fish or a 12 inch wild trout i would go with the ten pounder![]()
Agreed. We got very lucky on this stretch. The fish took 5 minutes to get in some cases. These fish are fed for sure, but best fight I've had on the end of my rod yet. I have yet to hook a 22 inch wild fish, and I look forward to it, but I would pick these over a 12 inch wild fish any day of the week.
That's surprising that someone let you on. When I was in college, a couple buddies new a guy on Spruce where they'd go every once in a while (I never did because it involved chumming them up then hooking them with corn baited hooks), but I've never heard of strangers just knocking on a Spruce Creek door and being given permission.
10 pound fish vs. 12-inch native? Now there's another question. Well, since you said it was great for 2 hours than you got bored, all I have to interject is I've never been bored after two hours while catching 12-inch natives. But again, to each their own and I'm glad you had a good time on Spruce and the Little J.
