Re: Little J and a famous limestone spring creek

Wow, Aaron. I'm not sure we are fishing the same river. LOL. Some of those look like Espy fish; glad you're spending some time showing up his clients. I am serious about hiring you as a guide when I can save up the pennies, probably next year. Just as a reference, what are your fees? I believe I could learn a lot about both nymphing and streamer fishing from you.

    Martin,

You should definitely save your pennies as wel as cash in all of your cans. Aaron is a very knowledgable guide. I went out with him on a float down the Housy two or three years ago and I learned a ton. Go sooner than later.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and then release it, he might starve but we can catch the fish again tomorrow.

yeah i like going to the espy farm stretch. i like fishing there especially when some of the club members are there. i am hammering the fish and they just sit there watching. its funny because even though they have tons of money they still dont have everything that they want also it gives you a taste of the rich people fishing... its kind of rediculous but its fun for a few hours. as for the rest of the little j its a fantastic fishery. i like the water in the gorge section below the espy farm. there are lots of nice browns down there and occassionally you will pick up an "escapee" or two. the fish are smaller but are some of the prettiest i have ever seen. the other section i like is by a rock quarry i believe? there are a bunch of spring up there and the riffles in that are area are loaded with fish. again, nothing too big but every once and a while you hook a bigger one. i spooked one out from a riffle there that was an easy two feet ++++ one time... massive fish. maybe i could come out to the little j and you could show me some of the water that you fish and i could teach you some of the techniques... that way both of us win? that river really intrigues me. i hear some storties about fish that are the size of seals.

Aaron, it sounds like we fish some of the same water, and that I also may have a few holes to show you that you haven't yet discovered--and vice versa. Let me know when you may be coming this way and let's see what we can negotiate. I'll have to check with the boss; she sometimes has things scheduled that even a fishing trip can't displace. But I can be pretty persuasive if push comes to shove. And it does sometimes. Send me an email at MARTINLF@ETOWN.EDU if you're headed this way.
