Kyle,
It can be a great deal for someone who is strictly looking for a French Euro-style nymphing rod. I have one and love it for Euro-nymphing. As I understand it, if one were looking for a duel purpose rod this would not be a good choice.
$200 need money fast, got a different rod and need to pay off some stuff. Sock and tube included. in great shape only used since march, only sign of use in a discolored cork grip. Great rod if you want to fish dries and get into Euro nymphing. Reel and line available for sale too if intrested.

I've fished dries with it, it does a great job, just change over to a tapered leader instead of the nymph rig. You can fish all the way down to 8x tippets if you have a good smooth reel. I've also done the czech/polish shortlining and it's been great. A great all around rod no doubt.

8X??? ... Don't get me started![]()
why not 10 and even 12x, for the 20x12 club.

What's wrong with 8X?

All 8X does is make up for lack of good presentation skills.
Use a longer piece of 6X! No need for 8X...
Agreed on lengthening the tippet, you're much better off with a Humphreys pile or s-cast with 12 to 18 feet of leader than nine feet ending in anything above 6x.
As for the rod, its an impressive caster for the price and line weight. Don't tell him (though he's on the board), but I "borrowed" a friend's the other day as he left it on my hood and lawn casted it. I took the line off the reel and was able to get nearly all of it out, maybe about ten feet still on the ground and ten more in the guides, but ultimately very easy to get distance out of a three weight. A good caster could dump the whole line. Loop control was a little tougher with the softer tip, but then you want that for the euro-nymphing. I think you guys under sell the versatility of the rod...
